My Master Chief license plate on the front of my F 250 Power Stroke gets a few reads. My sweet wife Wanda and I are retired again. She was the finance officer of our school board, I was a school bus driver and mechanic. Now we take life as it comes, enjoy being together and spending lots of time with our grandchildren. It was one hell of a ride and I would'nt trade the experience for the world. Made ABF1 and converted to MM via A-School, good decision made Chief the second try. Went back to another flat-top (CVN70) A-Division, ran the EA08 w/c,catapult steam shop. Be safe out there in everything you do. May the wind always be at your back.

Comments: Met many fine sailors in my travels in the USN, just wish I had got there future home addresses so could have contact to-day. Was always happy and glad when we were on our way home from combat area. I remember the smells of the ship, JP fuel and Av/gas-- Jets turning and props whirling, plus helicopter (organized chaos on the flight deck night and day) and the sweet smell of perfumes and lotions in the crews compartment as we got closer to the USA. It will never be the same, so you guys still out there on the high seas, enjoy it while you can. I am now 79 and still in good health, have had Model T fords (sold them) and now have one Model A to keep playing with. Old cars have been my therapy in life. By the way my old Chiefs uniform still fits. (snug) I gave my Chief aviation Greens, Khakis and Whites to a collector that is starting a military museum and kept my Blues as I may be buried in them. If anyone remembers this old Chief drop me a line, you will get an answer. Fair sailing to all and remember-- Take care of your troops and they will take care of YOU.-- Keep them informed as you would like to be kept informed.

Comments: I will never forget my initiation into the chiefs mess. It started before the 9/11 attacks while onboard Theodore Roosevelt. We still had our "night" on time. We were not going to let the terorists make us change our lives. Then we deployed and stayed at sea for 159 days in a row. It was a record for a carrier since WWII. Those days may have been forgotten by some but I will never forget them.

Comments: I was really proud to know that I was selected. I honestly did not get the induction process for the first two weeks because of some family issues but once I need that things were okay as far as the issue, I was on board and really enjoyed the entire process. I was broke and couldn't run but enjoyed the daily PTs, early morning wake ups and the late to bed. The taskers were sometimes silly but I put in all my efforts to get the team work going. Wow! how hard it is for ten people to agree on things and get them done! We survived that and made it through the night of without incident. I cannot go a day without thanking my God for the blessings, my family for the support and coping with the time away from home. My friends and co-workers, my Sailors who trusted in me and my awesome sponsors who showed me the ropes. This is what makes the Navy chief great and proud. NAVY CHIEF -- NAVY PRIDE

Comments: When I was a selectee I can honestly say that I was going through mixed emotions. I was proud that I was selected, I was nervous because I wasn't sure if I was going to be a good Chief and I wasn't sure if I was deserving of this great honor. But once Induction was over. I was proud to see my entire Chief's Mess in attendance at the pinning. Mind you 95% of them was at the entire final night. I was pinned by my family, my sponsor put my cover on me and at that point I knew I wasn't going to be just a good Chief. I am going to be a great Chief because of the people I have around me and most of all because of the Mess I have. The Red Wolf CPO Mess is by far the best and most caring mess there is. I know this because so many former Red Wolves from the past have told me this and I must agree. From the time I got pinned there has not been a day I am not proud to be the Chief. I look forward to what the future brings and leading my Sailors.
