Comments: It's been a long time since I have posted. My Navy career was 22 years--17 of which was Can duty. A destroyer was my ship, but you'll note that therewas on an AF for one cruise and at times our crew would be begging for hot dogs and hamburgers. She was a refrigerator ship and the chow was not too bad, but with all the destroyers I am a Tin Can Sailor. I am now an author with 3 books published--you can find them in the Goat Locker Gift page. Comments: Two of the ships I helped crew were War II ships still on active duty. This is a voice from the past. I see that MCPON is steering an ambitious course, I wish him well.I came out of boot camp with embroidered dragons to sew on my dress jumper cuffs, as soon as I could get there. Acquired half wellington dress boots in 'A' School. Well they told me it was an adventure, so I adventured. First 'A' school inspection included a 'Sock check', (for those who don't remember, we wore white socks with white uniforms, then), I had white socks, they never commented about my boots as they were polished and gleamed in the sun. I sincerely wish I could somehow do my 33+ years over again. Seabag is almost packed. Boxkickin' Willy.
