Comments: This transition season was a good one. Lot's of good changes happening some of which I like and others that I dislike. I think the training focus is good, however we can't lose sight of the fact that new Chiefs most importantly need to be humble. I believe we need to get creative as to how we can create those types of Chiefs without resorting to our old ways. I think that certain traditional things are still necessary, and lets not forget that this brotherhood is all about tradition and we "The Chiefs" can never lose sight of those traditions which make being "The Chief" such a special thing.

Comments: Dear Webmaster, Thank you for the opportunity to post. When I was a much younger Second Class (1968) while serving aboard the USS Hector, the division officer brought me three stars. I asked what these were for?? I was informed that we were going to have a visit From the first MCPON Gunners mate Black and they needed a plaque to commemorate his visit. I asked what one looked like, I was told there had never been one before, so what you see in the show case inside the front door at the MCPON Center at Great Lakes for MCPON Black is what came out.
