Hello Shipmates, my name is Derek A. Williams Nickname (bulldog)!!! I had the pleasure of being stationed at the following duty stations: boot camp - Orlando, FL; DDG-5 Claude V. Guys I'm at a lost regarding sbp! Meaning at the time of my retirement I elected not to sign up for sbp because it was not agood thing due to the cost! But it seems now and too late that i realize that was a bad thing! At one time there was an open window to join so i filled out the documentation and sent it in only for it to come back denied for some reason! However shipmates i do require a good insurance policy regardless if it's sbp or what-ever! Any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it! One other thing I'm in search of a preowned fiberglass truck shell for a 1993 ford flareside F150 Pickup any leads on either of these issues please e-mail me! Will succumbed to a long illness on 17 December 2002 and will be laid to rest in the Arlington Memorial Cemetary in the near future. A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Oceana Naval Air Station's Chapel on 20 December, 2002 at 1300 with viewing of the body at 1200. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends.

I entered active duty in Jun 87. Attended YN "A" school in Meridan, MS. My first Duty station was USS FORRESTAL (CV 59) from Oct 87 - May 91. I then transferred to HS-1 at NAS Jax from Jun 91 - Jun 94. I then left the Navy for 22 months. I came back as a NAVET in Mar 96. I was assigned to COMNAVSURFGRU MED at NSA Naples, Italy from May 96 - Apr 99. I then transferred to USS YORKTOWN (CG 48) Pascagoula, MS from May 99 to Feb 02. I am currently attached to SHAPE in Mons, Belgium.

I am a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps. I was just recently pinned on 07 DEC 02. In my Sea Cadet division (named the Battleship Missouri Division) those cadets selected for chief have to go through a 5 month initiation, charge books and all. We recieve taskings from the chiefs at our reserve center and in turn we ask them to impart their wisdom on us. We can only have a maximum of 4 chiefs in our division, and I am the first female chief in the 40 years of our division's history. I really appreciated this website, as it helped me find much of the information I was tasked to find. I'm glad to be a part of the chief's community at my reserve center and I look forward to the day when I can call myself a true and blue Navy Chief!

Served 21 years in the Royal Australian Navy Submarine Arm (1967 to 1988). Paid off as a Warrant Officer Underwater Control Submarines - equates to a Master Chief Sonarman Submarines. Underwent submarine training in the UK (HMS GRAMPUS and HMS ARTFUL). Commissioned 2 boats in Scotland (HMAS OTWAY in 1968 and HMAS ORION in 1978). Spent a couple of days in USS BAYA when OTWAY worked with her in the south pacific in 1969. Have met lots of USN submariners over the period of my service.
