Went to NCS North West Cape, then to B school in 1969, then to USS Plainview in Dec 1969, then CSTCS for 12 weeks and then NCS Hono in Jan 1973, then USS Truxtun Feb 1976, then NAVCAMS EastPac Jun 1979, then USS William H. Would like to pass along my gratitude for the entry from MMCM Don Shane, my SEA classmate at Newport in the spring of '82 BUT all that being said...a slight correction is in order...I carried the title of the president of class 03...but it was the first real SEA class...and I was more interested in getting a cold beer than doing my job...I regret that now very much and I would like to apologize to my classmates for letting them down...BUT on the bright side, I quit the beer in '83 and haven't lit up a cigarete since '86...right now after a year on a health and exercise kick... I can out work...out fight...out drink anyone out there...almost<> as long as they are senior citizens like me...lol HAFND and I would like to hear from other classmates from that "infamous" class 03...real 01...it was wonderful experince ...fred

Chief Messersmith mentions the Military taking the hit for the credit card mis-use. As a retiree, I work for SPAWAR where much credit card mis-use has been found. While we have a few enlisted personnel, most of our active duty people are officers (I'd like to find out who used a card for "breast enhancement"!). Anyway, Chief Messersmith is correct. I don't believe a single military person was found to have abused their government credit card. It was all done by our civil servants (some of whom may be retired military). But to the media, everyone in DOD - civilian or Active Duty - is military. Saw something on a network news report that really frosted my anchors. Reporting on the misuse of Government Credit Cards by the �Military�. Although the enlisted community was never mentioned specifically, they made no effort to say that the problem lies with civilian employees of the defense industry. I�ve been retired for ten years, maybe someone became real stupid since then and started handing out credit cards to the enlisted personnel. I�f I�m wrong, would someone tell me.
