Comments: Greg,I visit your site on a regular basis. Great site. I ask that you post the following: Shipmates:I hope you don't mind my intrusion but I have a serious matter that I would like to bring to your attention. That is the issue of American POW/MIA's. This has been on my mind for some time now and I have finally found a way to put in my two cents worth. It is called Operation Just Cause.
here are still over 2400 fighting men unaccounted for in Vietnam.
This is a shameful fact of life. Perhaps we can make a difference.A very remarkable site is by an 11 year old angel who never even set foot on American soil...She not only put up a page...she started a major project for an organization of Kids on the Net called KeyPals International. Don't miss her "Bring Grandpa Home"
page. If you come away from that site without a lump in your throat, then you just weren't paying attention. If you are moved as much as I was, then I invite you to click the button "I Want To Make A Difference" on her page. You will feel better having done so, believe me. THANK YOU, SHIPMATES, FOR YOUR TIME AND PATIENCE! "Fair Winds & Following Seas"

Comments: Nice page, I especially like the links. I logged on just the other day. However, I managed to wade through the archives and I noticed something. Even though I didn't recognize many names I sure recognized some all of the boats. Sooo, since I figure some of you are like me I thought I would make a note of the boats I have been on; Uss Halibut (When it was converted from ssgn to ssn); USS Kamehameha (in Hawaii - second blue crew patrol +++); Uss James K. Polk (In Charleston after a tour at the training facility); Uss Stonewall Jackson (In Hawaii for one patrol as a fillin just before she went to the yards); Thomas Edison (another Hawaii boat). I also served at SWIFTPAC at EHW1 and offloaded last Polaris on Robert E. Lee and onloaded Ohio. Ended my career with 22 years at CNTT Memphis and moved to the south Oregon Coast. This is a great page and I hope some old shipmates either find me or I will find them when I come back to this page.

It was a privilege and an honor to serve as a Chief and Senior Chief Petty Officer prior to my commission as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1986. My retirement ceremony is on 13 June 1997 at 1000, NAS Jacskonville. I have found many of you that I served with but I'm still in search of others that I hope to locate in the CPO index page. I am new to this community and would appreciate any constructive criticism or advice. I do have one question: I understand the symbolism of the fouled anchor, but why are the stars for the Senior and Master Chief anchors upside down?
