Comments: With cover removed, I thank you for allowing entrance into the "Goat Locker". I'm seeking communication with anyone who served aboard USS Dale (DLG or CG)19. I served on DLG19 for two WestPac cruises in 1969-70. Dale was then a member of task force 71, destroyer squadron 15 operating at "Yankee Station"; Tonkin Gulf and in Sea of Japan & Yellow Sea. Does anyone remember the EC-121 incident on 15-APR-69? I'll bet the USS Henry H. Tucker remembers it. Let's share a cup of coffee and talk old times....

Comments: Ahoy from one who sailed the South Pacific on the USS LCI (G) 450. Left San Diego in convoy January 6, 1944 headed for Pearl Harbor. Made it after 12 days at sea. The zig-zag convoys weren't too fast in those days.

I went aboard the Corry in Aug 1974 after having served 18 months in the Phillipine Islands. I left Corry Oct 1976. I got out of the regular navy for the inactive reserve from Oct 76 to Oct 77. I returned to active duty from Oct 77 to Oct 79. My last duty station was at the naval radio transmitter facility in Annapolis Maryland. I also took the most important training while in Md. I took an 8 week clown course and have been a professional clown since 1978. My thanks to the encouragement I got from RMC WR Nobles. (I think his name was Walter Ray and he went by Ray). I go by "Fuzzy" or "Uncle Fuzzy".

Comments: Hi ya: I'm Looking for information concerning the ships my dad served on between 1934 and 1952. His name was Charles Madison Loveridge, and he left the Navy with the rank of Chief Machinist Mate in 1950 or '51 for medical reasons. He died in '59 when I was about six years old. I'm sort of commemorating his life by attempting to build models of all his boats. They are, in odrder, Edsall (DD-219) 1934 - 1941, Philadelphia (CL-41) 1941 - 1944, Alaska (CB-1) 1945 - 1947, Yorktown (CV-10) 1947 - 1950, and Navasota (AO-106) 1950 - 1952. Comments: My next door neighbor is a retired chief and he steered me to this site. Master Chief this is good and interesting stuff. Keep up the good work. All of my sea duty was on Submarine Tenders and in fact every time I re-enlisted I was on the USS Hunley (AS-31). Kind of strange that it worked out that way, but she was the best of all I served aboard. Missed her de-commisioning and when that took place I thought, what's going on? she is still a new ship. Comments: I've enjoyed this site prior to it's overhaul, and now it's even better! Never been in the service as a military member, but I've served as a civil servant for the past 25 years, 13 of those at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard prior to it's closure. I come from a Navy family and I am proud to have served the fleet during my career. In fact today, I still remember fondly the days working for the Navy and the experiences and fun I had. I'm currently working for the Defense Logistics Agency performing acquisition quality assurance, and though my job relates to all the service branches including NASA, I still take a special interest in those contracts relating to the Navy. In fact, since coming to DLA, I've had the chance to work Navy Level-I and Navy Nuclear Plant Material procurement, and again, those programs have proven to be most rewarding. I've also managed a 6-month tour providing direct support in the Balkans, where I was procuring petroleum products for the troops. These products were refined by Hungarian, Croatian, and Russian sources for the NATO Allies. It wouldn't surprise me if the fed. gov. backed it in order for t non-lifers to maintain and believe me, there were a lot of us. During that era I was just a kid, as so were most of us, and I used the drugs to escape reality and be able to perform my duties sometimes 24 hrs. a day. We were in the harbor one of the times for 38 straight days. If this message can help me out with being able to cope with my disability, that will be fantastic.
