My last duty station was S1W/D '81 to '84, where my most lasting(?) contribution was painting the dolphins on the M-div tool cage wall. I think I vaguely remember you (don't take it personally, everything from that long ago is kind of vague). Which crew were you on? One comment as to the term "goat locker": the battleship New Jersey, BB-62, is now berthed in Camden, NJ as a floating museum. I volunteer on board as a tour guide on the weekends. Most of the other volunteers are also ex-navy, but there is only one other bubblehead aside from yours truly. At any rate, the point is that every time I refer to the CPO quarters as the goat locker, I get blank stares from the retired surface pukes. I think the term is "goat locker" is exclusive to the sub service. Have you ever had any other input about this? By the way, nice site.

Spent time in Sea of Japan (northern sector) in an attempt to get back the Illeagally apprehended USS Pueblo in '68. Became a Mechanical Test Engineer in '89 and specializedin Submarine repair. Was presented Honorary "Fish" by the ship's DCA, Lt. John Staak, on the USS Puffer SSN-652. This was done after I accompanied him on a tour of the Boat and explained the operation of the Boat from diesel gererator to the rudder and steering planes in shaft alley. I wear them daily and proudly to this day with my Federal employee identification

Comments: I just wanted to say I am also very proud to wear my fish! Also I am very proud to have served with the fine sailors of the submarine fleet, not to down the surface fleet, but there's no navy like the sub navy!
Chiefs, for the past 8 plus years, i've been desperately trying to track down ITC Darren and Juanita Townsend, with whom i served with a Comcargru-3 in 92'&93'.
