Was an Instructor at AIC San Diego, as an AICS.. Duty thru Nam and various ships, Commands and assignments as indicated in afore mentioned areas. Most rewards were knowing that some of the Sailors working for, and with me, also are now OSCM's.... A good feeling to know I may have had something to do with that. I love the Navy... did most of my career, and to the end which has brought me to be near to the USMC, and the bases here in SDiego. I can see that in all the new selectee stories. I remember one thing a CPO told me at my initiation a E-7 wants to be a leader, a Chief is a leader. I've never forgotten that. Wear your Khaki's with pride you've earned them.

Comments: I made chief shortly before my retirement as a reservist at Moffett Field, California. I originally joined the reserve in June, 1950, just before the Korean war started. I went standby while in college and then active duty for two years in 1956. Following a long break after my 2nd enlistment expired, I rejoined the reserve and continued until retirement in 1993. My initiation was done at the chief's club at Moffett Field. I am disappointed that all of my duty stations have been decommissioned.
